Why is there always a popping and clicking sound when I play or record sounds of music, no matter what media player or recorder I use. Is there a way to silence them?
Try turning your speakers down a bit then increasing the volume from your media player instead. The wrong balance between these two can highlight interference and this will help if your speaker amplifier is trying to deal with a weak signal.
It could be overload, in which case reverse the process I gave above.
Thanx to you both, Direk and Doug. My system is 6 years old with no upgrade and came probably with a 'standard' soundcard, which means a cheap one, I guess. I've learned from some guys it has lot to do with the RAM but they were suggesting a much bigger one of at least 512mb, so I guess I have no choice but go for a RAM upgrade, and maybe a soundcard change as well.
