kdh344, get/use a good stopper and don't bother with checking the registry. There are many free ones, some are even GOOD! HTH. Ed in Texas.

I installed the free google toolbar ,which has a built in popup stopper .I have been impressed with how well it works ,I have'nt had any popups since I installed this free toolbar ! Go to the google home page for searches and it will have a link to install the free toolbar ! Good Luck ,Nick

Nick, that's good advice. However, modern browsers have this feature and many more built in to them. For example, try Mozilla or Opera -- you'll see what I mean. I personally use Mozilla Firebird, it stops pop-ups, has a Google search bar at the top of the browser and features tabbed browsing (very useful indeed).
