Check this one out at:
http://www.panicware.com/popupstoppercompare.html
Download the FREE version. Once you download this a icon will be in your system tray. Right click the icon in system tray and go to properties. Once there place a check mark in: Enable Aggressive Pop-Up Control. Then if you want to view more than one site at a time all you need to do is hold down the Ctrl key on your keyboard to get more than one site.
Hope this helps you out! I have been using this one for 4 or 5 years and never had any issues with it.

if you use a browser like mozilla, it stops popups for you. But, when I used to use IE I had a program called mk FreeSurfer, it worked great, I think you can get it at webattack.com sometimes it will block popups that you don't want it to, but you just right click it's icon in the system tray and tell it you want to allow that popup, and it will never block it again (well unless you tell it to)
