I am having a problem re-installing the HSP mini modem that came from Compaq (no comments please!). I downloaded the drivers from Compaq and there is a program called 'hspdiag.exe' missing. So I downloaded the drivers from PCtel. The driver package didn't work so I e-mailed PCtel and they responded with a zip which dosen't work either. Anyhow, does anyone have a copy of hspdiag they can e-mail me???

Ron, the driver for the pctel is a small text file with .inf extension. Compaq sends out some kind of pack that installs a bunch of junk you may not need. Only advice i have is to search the contents of the zip sent to you from pctel for a .inf file. there may be several ie. one for windows 2000 one for windows me etc. Place the .inf file on a floppy labeled pctel driver. Manually install the modem. Insert the floppy labeled pctel/start/settings/control panel/add new hardware/next/next/no i want to select hardware from a list/highlight modem/next/dont detect my modem i will select it from a list/have disk/when it searches your floppy drive it should see the driver file you copied to the floppy and you should be in business. If you find several .inf files you might have to try this a few times till you find the one for ME Good Luck.
