I was playing one of the cards games on Win ME, when the screen went blank, at first i through it was the monitor that had gone, i tryed restart pc with ctrl, alt, delete. This did not work, no HD active, even after pressing it twice. So used restart button. This time pc restarted however it started to count up the ram i had pressed esc to jump count. Then pc started as normal, but even before windows frist screen pc stoped say something about cmos time etc. enter setup or press F1 to resurme, pressed F1 pc continured to start up. Once started pc clock said time was 00:00hrs. i then restarted pc and entered cmos, the time was 1st March 1999 00:01hrs. I entered correct time and the restarted pc.
Can any tell me were to go now, as this is a new to me.

If your pc is a desktop and in your next rebbot you are ask to load cmos settings defaults then its the cmos battery in your motherboard is the suspect but if its a laptop then its a different story.

If your graphics is built-in with the mobo, check its in the bios, what actually is your display adapter? Brand? built-in or card type? AGP or PCI? try to set your bios to Fail Safe Defaults, if you boot in windows the set it again to Load Optimize Default.
It may cleared any wrong configuration of your bios.
