hey all, my pc has been making a funny clicking like sound like the sound when a computer goes into standby and you move your mouse and you hear a click. Well its like that but its happening all the time like when im on the internet all of a sudden i hear that noise. any help please

I'm not totally sure on this, but I would guess that the noise you are hearing when you bring the system out of standby is your hard drive starting back up. If that's the case, then that could mean the noises you are hearing could be coming from your hard drive, possibly signs that it may be giving out, in which case you should back up any important data immediately, in case it should completely crash soon. Is this noise coming from the actual computer case itself, or the monitor? Some monitors make a clicking sound when they turn on and off, so there would be the slight chance it's something wrong with that, if that's where the sound is coming from.

thanks. i also think that the noise is coming from the hard drive so i think its time to get a new one dont you?
