hi there,

first, here's my specs:
Windows Millenium
Pentium 800
Maxtor 20 GB HD (Pri. Master)
Mitsumi 48x CD-ROM (Sec. Master)
Sony 8x4x32 CD-Writer (Sec. slave)
128 MB SDRAM 133 MHz
Asus CUSL-2C MB(Intel 815E chipset)
Asus AGP -V7100 Pro Pure 32 MB (GeForce2 MX 400)
Soundblaster Live Value

Chipset, Soundblaster, VGA drivers and BIOS are all the latest.

Problem :
When I play 3D games after 5-10 minutes of playing the computer goes into slow motion. what I mean is the picture starts and stops, menus appear slowly, sound becomes garbled. Weird thing is this happens randomly and most often in games such as quake 3, ST Voyager: Elite Force, Half-Life, NBA Live 2001, but never happens in Links, MS Train Simulator, Need for Speed.
Any suggestions/ solutions?
Thanks?

Try going into Scheduled Tasks first, and deleting the PCHealth icon when you first start up the machine. If that helps prevent the slowdown then you found your problem.

There are many things which could be causing this. The more up to date version of the link wwd posted is below and you might like to read through it.

(the first link is SMUOD’s nice-looking HMTL version with hyperlinks, the second is the forum post with additional comments and replies)

Removing PC Health and other stuff that loads automatically at startup seems to work.

Thanks guys
