Pauses during Boot

This is probably a simple question, but since I don't know the answer (and since it is driving me crazy), I would really appreciate an answer to this question:

How do I reset the boot sequence so that it does *not* pause ! I press the power button, and the initial boot screen appears with the message "Press DEL to continue." After I press the DEL key, it loads Windows Me without a hitch.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks.

That sounds like some sort of warning/setting in your BIOS.

What does it say right above "Press DEL to continue"?

Does it say something like ESCD succeed or Keyboard error or....?
