I've just installed WMe for the first time. I have setup the password protection via a screen saver - it works great.
However, does ME have a password setting which all protects at BOOT? With the screen saver password, all someone has to do is turn off the system, boot back up, and they're in.

If you want that sort of security you'll have to use the BIOS password.

You will need to shut down the laptop and take out the battery and wait for about 10 sec and reinstall the battery and start the laptop back up. If this doesnt work then you will need to reset it by moving the jumpers around and then back into place to reset it to no password. Hope this helps
