Parallel port not being detected

Help!
i recently installed Windows ME, as i installed a new hard drive. Problems are that the 75GB hard drive is only working at half capacity, and now my parallel port is not being detected, when it worked fine before.
i think it is all connected to me upgrading my BIOS to try and get the hard drive to work.
Any assistance would be very gratefully received, most importantly on getting my printer to work, but any advice on hard drive capacity would be appreciated.
Thanks Jon
ps. my motherboard is an ASUS P2Z-VM, about 1 1/2 years old

There should be something to configure about the parallel port in the bios. if none of the options there work, try going back to the old bios (if possible). About the hardrive, did it come with a installation disk? Did you check if it's not just because the rest of the harddisk in unalocated and that you just have to make another partition of it...
Hope something is usefull Johan

i agree with johan. the hard drive may need to be partitioned to get full useof it. with one that size i would reccomend that anyway.

Jep, agree completely guru. I suggest you make the bootpartition about 5 GB, then you can choose but I would make a backup partition at the end. (make an image when you installed windows and configured everything. saves hours when reinstalling...)
Now only hope that that's the only problem,b'cause this is easy fixed...
