(Overwrite OS) Reinstall WIN ME

i intend to reinstall Win ME cause my com infected with Spy Sheriff My question here is can i reinstall OS and overwrite it withouth losing any work

Why don't you just remove Spy Sheriff? Reinstalling over your OS probably won't help if it's riddled with spyware. How to remove SpySheriff / Winstall.exe / Spysheriff.exe - BleepingComputer.com

Just reinstalling WIndows will not get rid of the problem unless you format (and that means erase!) the disk. You may have better luck getting rid of SPy Sheriff, or just backing up your data and reinstalling Windows.
