The option of maually configuring my email acounts on Norton is disabled or something Im not able to do it so a friend of mine told me that I can right click on the Launch Outlook Express icon (envelope) on the left bottom of the screen (before you open any mail) and scan it for viruses and my friend also said that it is scanning new mail in the process. Is this right?

Why don't you just enanble the feature in NAV? In NAV, go to Options/internet/email protection/advanced and check the 'Enable Manual Configuration' box.
That way you won't need any sort of get-u-by.

I did I still can't manually configure them though it says that NAV email scanner is running and prtecting you against viruses in email attachments but it still says an unsupported email account has been detected...Does it just mean the aol account?

Pleas note the following which is extracted from the Symantec site:
"Norton AntiVirus email protection can only scan email messages that exist on the hard drive. The email database for Web-based email services, such as Hotmail, Yahoo, Juno, and AOL, resides on a remote server, not your computer".

I had the same problem and found out that you not only have to go to the advanced email
protection and check 'enable manual config., but you also have to go to options/internet/emailprotection (not advanced) and check the box by your listed email client. My email is configured now. Hope this helps.
