I don't want MSN Messenger to start with OE 5. I went under Tools/Options and unchecked "Automatic log on to MSN Messenger". I also went in to MSN Messenger and unchecked "Allow This Program To Run In The Background" and "Run This Program When Windows Starts". I also went in to MSConfig and disabled it from there. It still starts up when I start OE 5. I can't delete it because my daughter uses it. Is there something else that I can do to keep it from starting?

Dell P4, WinME, 256 RAM, 40G HD, IE 5.5 SP2, and MSN 4.6.

Thanks

PS: When I try to close MSN Messsenger it says "There are other applications currently using features provided by MSN Messenger such as Outlook Express, MSN Explorer, and Internet Explorer". What features would that be?

Thats strange...I have never got that message when I close Messenger.

Also remove MSN Messenger from Start/Menu [if it is there in the top most list when you click on Start at left-bottom corner]

Remove if it is there in Start/Programs AND in Startup folder in Programs.

this does not uninstall the program. leave a shortcut on desktop and the bottom bar so that you can launch it when needed.
