When I checked my email today, I had mail from my sister-in-law sending me a file called xmas card.exe. Outlook, in all its wissdom, decided I shouldn't be looking at this and blocked access.. The message read: "Outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe attachment: xmas card.exe"

The same thing used to happen in Outlook Express and I got so royally peed-off I switched to Outlook - that was about a year ago. Today was the first time Outlook decided to be a guardian of my morales.

There must be a setting some where that I can change to prevent this. I have Norton to watch for viruses.

Can anyone help me on this?

Hi Paul, hello everyone,

In Outlook Express select Tools and Options.

Select the Security tab.

Uncheck the box next to Do not allow attatchments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus.

Click on Apply.

Best Regards,
Mesich
