CPU/Ram: i don't know, my brother
Comment:

god. my brother is a freaking ignoramus. he had deleted what he thought was spyware from /windows, nice cover up for being stupid, and our power blinked off. when he turned the computer back on, 'Operating system not found.' he doesn't remember what files he deleted, and he insists on searching google. i figured it could mean a thousand things, so i'm asking here. we've booted with a startup disk, and tried to open windows. says something's wrong with ifshlp.sys. my brother first asked me to redirect msdos.sys to the right folder. it is. then _I_ found out the problem isn't with ifshlp but with ifshmgr. any thoughts? i have no other info until he tells it to me.

Could you explain that, a little better. Have to admit, don't quite follow, thanks.

Was that 'ifsmgr.vxd', and not "ifshmgr" Just curious.
:-) Some Info

most likely it is, my brother doesn't want me to try to open windows again because he'll have to reboot it. that MS help page, my brother found it. asked me how to do everything, i told him/did it, nothing worked
