I recently started to use Opera 7.22 browser. I really like it, but there is one problem I’m having . When I try to log into a site where I have to write my nick name the dialog box where the name suppose to be entered is not there, instead there is a little icon: IMAGE. I know that that’s something simple that should be checked or unchecked most likely in preferences. Please help me locate it. Thanx

Yeah, it's nothing like IE, which, despite endless security patches and bug fixes, remains susceptible to hijacks & other exploits ; )

Bleat at me no longer.

Try Mozilla. I never had any spyware since I started using it (1.0), now using 1.6.

Mozilla is the only thing I use except for Windows Update; well I do have Firebird 0.7 installed too (and customized nicely) and it's nice, but I use the email client and composer that are built into Mozilla so Firebird doesn't get the usage Mozilla does. It is a very good, fast and secure browser tho.

I haven't tried the more recent Firefox 0.8 (they had to change the name for some reason; legal I think).

Same here, never had a piece of spyware since using Firebird/fox or the full Mozilla suite for that matter.

The only reason I have either Adaware and Spybot on a machine is because I need to know what they do and how they work and where each product is at for clients.

Opera 7.50 (latest) is sweet, still undecided if I prefer it over 7.23 though. You might wanna try it out. And the Opera forum suggestion is a good one ;)

Mozilla Firefox 0.9 is about to be released so you might wanna hold back till it arrives. As it edges toward 1.0+, Firefox is evolving further and further away from it's predecessors and 0.9 is different from Firebird.

It already is a great browser but as time slips by you can see it's going to be a truly truly great browser when it reaches 1.0+. Customizable isn't in it. With Thunderbird development hot on it's heels the two will eventually be the flag ships for the Mozilla project and rightly so.

You can't knock the Mozilla suite at the moment though. Great geek line from another forum said: "you could try and prize Mozilla / Firefox from my cold dead hands, I suppose".

That's geek not Greek.

Top notch alternative for an IE looking but gecko based browser is K-Meleon 0.8.2. Well worth a dabble if you want speed, security and simplicity from a stand alone browser and don't want to use an IE "front end" like Avant, MyIE2 etc.

customizability ?? Such a word ? 0_o 8-)
