Most often, as I CLOSE an Internet Explorer window or an Explorer window while searching in My Computer an error message "Explorer has caused an error in OLE32.dll. Explorer will be closed" or "Explorer has caused an error in KERNEL32.dll. Explorer will be closed" appears. As I shut the error message window, most of the icons in the bottom right of the application bar disappear. I have recently upgraded my IE 5 to IE 6 and have some feeling this may have been the start of the problem. Has anyone experienced this problem? Do you think you might help me solve it? Many thanx in advance.

the best way to see if IE6 is the culprit is to revert back to previous IE.
sometimes an upgrade will not 'take' properly, so you might try upgrading again.

If all of the little icons down by the clock disappear when you get the error... this usually means that something running in the background on your machine didn't like the upgrade to IE 6. When something is hanging on to the underlying code in internet explorer... and you upgrade internet explorer... sometimes the program that depended upon the old version of IE gets broke.
You see this most often with poorly writen programs. Programs like Gator, Gozilla, Kazaa (and it's 8 programs that come with it), and other "freeware" (a.k.a. - crapware) from the internet.
You can try running IE back to the older version, but the program that is broken my still cause issues.
My suggestion is to run sbybot or ad-aware and see if it will help you clean up the junk. Then test IE to see if you still have the problem.
