Comment:

I am using RegCleaner (a really good program), under tools, there is an option for OLE Cleanup. It says that I have 66 entries that can be safely deleted (or backed up before deletion). I am a little hesitant to do either one. I just picked one entry at random and this is what it says:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
CLSID\{D3B1DE00-6B94-1069-8754-08002B2BD6F}

I traced that in my Registry and found a subfolder that says: InProcServer32 Threading Model "Apartment"

Out of the 66 entries, 1/2 are in CLSID and the other half in TYPELIB. I am not sure that I should be messing with this -- any thoughts about OLE Cleaning?

I use RegCleaner regularly and I had only oce a problem (curable) when I cleared some ignored entries.
Just backup and after some weeks without
problems delete the backups.
If you don't have jv16 power tools you can download them from Webattack and use RegCleaner from there.
Be careful with the red items it finds.
I found the "safe to remove" (greens) to be always safe to remove.

Now I am really confused (and I am not color blind), but RegCleaner 4.3 by Jouni Vuorio does not have color coded entries -- at least I have not found a setting or instructions telling me that.

I guess I can start one at a time and back them up and see what happens. Why is all OLE information so confusing with just numbers and letters and no way to tell what it is and what it controls? Thanks for your help.

J.Vuorio's jv16 power tools contain a version of RegCleaner that has these red and green marks for entries to remove.
Download them and try it.

I have jv16 power tools for three months
and there is no bug in the RegCleaner they have in.
I don't use the other tools exept the startup items tool and backup tool that work PERFECT.

The temp file tool is nesrly useless.
I don't know this beta new edition.
The old one in my opinion has the best
registry cleaner.
You just have to RESIST the Temptation
to click to the other items.

Sue,I went to the site and read about the bag
and I just haven't such a promlem at all.
I have tried some R.Cleaners and still find this one the best.
You have heard about not clicking in features
such as reset hardware configuration...
The best part is in
Registry tool/Tools/RegCleaner
check the three boxes.
You can just stay away from the other tools.
