I receive an NTKERN(01) +00033IE to 'MTRR "; Service 2 error after I initialize my firewire device in Device Manager, locking the system with the blue screen of death. The only way to get system running again is to reboot in Safe Mode and disable. I have a Compaq P4/1.5 with 256 Ram. Problem started after faulty upgrade to IE6 which required reinstallion of ME to go back to previous version of IE and Outlook (which itself caused some system problems). I finally managed to get everything working again except this problem. Microsoft says call Compaq and Compaq says call Microsoft. As everything worked before the IE upgrade, I have no reason to think hardware is bad nor that RAM is faulty. Any suggestions?

Run WinDoctor if you have norton system utilities it clears up lots of stuff or get a registry editor and remove the IE stuff.
