My computer was working normal since yesterday that a person from this forum helped me to remove the safe mode also mouse. Now my computer lost the sound. I remove the driver from device mananger and it still don't work also on (Sounds and Multimedia)the option on audio and voice are in gray color you can't select them. and am stuck in here. some help again will be appreciate : )

If you have a CD to go with your sound card or motherboard (if you plug your speakers directly into it) try using that to (re)install your sound card drivers. Reboot, and you should be set. If you've been having other, similar problems with Windows ME, try reinstalling the operating system. It's better to do a 'clean' install (format, then install from scratch) but thta might not be neccesary. I don't really know what to say beyond that, except that you might have a hardware failure, but that could be said about most problems.

Seems that didn't work so I took the option # 2 reinstalling Windows Me and I have my sound back again : ) thanks alot my friend

I have had this problem on a number of occasions and each time found that the audio codec has become disabled for some reason! The codec can be re-enabled in BIOS Setup (usually accessed by pressing F1 repeatedly while your PC is booting up).
