Not starting in safe mode

My computer will not start in safe mode or normal boot up either. I have Windows ME and have two drives and it loads up in the second one, but I cannot influence the other drive from there. The boot disk does not work either. I know it has something to do with the vxd's because the monitor just packs up after the Windows ME white screen appears. Please can anyone give me some suggestions for things to try. Thanks

Try booting in BOOTLOG mode several times. Then use an edit program to access the hidden BOOTLOG.txt file on the system drive and see how far it gets and what it was last trying to start, that did not finish.
Should give you a clue as to what is corrupted.
