not printing background 'color'..

Is there anyway to turn off the background when printing. I only want the 'text' printed. It seems a waste of 'ink' plus it makes printing very slow.

thanks for the reply, I didn't think it would matter what prgm i was trying to print. I received a few emails that have a background color (pattern). I want to print with out the pattern and colors.. just the text. thanks fran

Hi! franbarb ! I hope this is it.You can go and take a look and see(long shot). Here we go: go to START and click> scroll up to SETTINGS > slide over to CONTROL PANEL and click>when page comes up find INTERNET OPTIONS and click> when that page comes up,look at the top and go to the tab that says ADVANCED and click> when that page comes up scroll down to PRINTING.Now MAKE SURE that box is UNCHECKED.If it is unchecked then this want help.Just leave it unchecked-------------Donald
