Not enough conventional memory to run DOS programs

I need to run 1 MS-DOS program in WinMe, I need at least 580Kb free of conventional memory, but I can't do it!!!.
Usualy I used Device=himem.sys,device=emm386.exe noems
dos=high,umb in Win98, but config in WinMe desapeared.

The only way is with a boot disk.

Or get rid of Win ME...which contrives a crippled DOS

Umm... try setting all the memory management settings to maximum on the PIF properties rather than AUTO. This has worked for me in the past although it probably shouldn't!
