I plug in my portable hard disk, the window detect and is install, but is not displaying my portable hard disk drive in my computer, so i can't access my portable hard disk at all.

Bran-D, could be a dumb question, but... Did you reboot with the drive connected to allow Windows to detect it?

Have you looked in Disk Management to make sure it's seen there? If so, try manually assigning it a drive letter.

For '98 one has to provide the drivers for the usb enclosure (at least for the one I have); presumably same applies to ME? No additional drivers required for S2K/XP however. Mine came with a mini-cd with for the '98 drivers.

OK thanks for that snippet... Not having played with ME very much (by intent...) not really sure what it does/doesn't have in terms of support for whatever...
