I just re-newed my Norton AntiVirus because it was going to expire. Everything went smoothly I thought because they thanked me for re-newing and I was able to obtain the new virus defintions. But when I started it the next day it said my subscription had expired. So I put in the confirmation number when asked and everything worked OK again.
The next time I started it I got the expired message again. My computer time and date is correct. Any ideas out there?

Not much help here, but the same thing happened to me with McAfee. Even when I gave them subscription confirmation they kept advising I needed to subscribe. Thus I removed Mcafee and installed Norton but did not expect this could happen with Norton. When renewal time for Norton comes I would hope the answer to your problem is resolved.

(first make a restore point)
one fix for this is ,completely uninstall
nav,add/remove in control panel-then delete- symantec shared folder, livereg, norton antivirus folder, live update,
then run regedit, and delete all keys related to symantec, and norton.
click start-run-type in regedit-click edit click find-type in symantec-press enter-
after finding and deleting 1st key -press f3
to find next entry-delete press f3 again repeat-until it says done searching the registry, then change find to norton antivirus, it might not find any for it,then livereg or live reg. after deleting all entries, reboot then reinstall nav
it should now say you have 366 days left.
had to do this when upgrading from 2001 to 2002,to get rid of the sub has expired screen. must be a bug in it somewhere.

It happened to me. Norton said my subscription had expired when I ran Live Update--only it was about six months too early! I went to the Norton site. They had a file download L***.exe fix that I installed on my machine, ran Live update, the client/server subscription verification animation came up for a few seconds and said I was OK, and off I went with my virus defs.

Since renewing my Norton Antivirus subscription in mid-January, Norton Antivirus seems to "lose" my subscription renewal key each time I try to do a new Live Update. What was Norton's response to my request for technical help? "...You should only need to enter the subscription number in once to reset your subscription for an additional year. You may have a technical issue with your Live update subscription expiring early. I recommend posting your message to the LiveUpdate online Technical Support Discussion Group..." THEY PROVIDED NO TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE WHATSOEVER. Now it will not accept my subscription renewal key at all, so I am up the creek and they have my money. As of this writing, I have been on hold for technical support for one hour and 7 minutes! Any suggestions???

This is driving me nuts. First I renewed NAV ok, but then my sub to Internet security expired so I renewed that as well, but I never even get to the form to enter the sub key. Live update keeps telling me I'm OK. You can't get anywhere on the phone or website and they've got my money. I'm going to to a complete uninstall (what a pain) and if it still fails I'm switching products. I hate these guys now.
