I just bought Norton Anitvirus 2004 but it won't let me install it because it's detecting norton antivirus corporate edition. I used to have the corporate edition and I now have a little part of it that I can't uninstall or delete. I tried deleting it but it says that DEFWATCH can't be deleted. Does anyone know how I can fully deleted the corporate edition so that I can install 2004 edition? TIA

"DEFWATCH" isn't the problem, but deleting "vpshell2" is the file that I'm not able to delete. TIA

Now I've deleted every file associated with norton antivirus (that I know of) and I still can't install version 2004. I know that I should have uninstalled the corporate edition, but that function wasn't working (part of the reason I bought 2004 edition is because most of corporate edition wasn't working). Can anyone tell me what other files I need to delete to completely rid my system of the corporate edition??? TIA

Thank you very much for the link. Unfortunately, I am now having problems opening my registry. When I type in "regedit" on run and run it...it comes up with an error saying "Registry editing has been disable by your administrator." My computer isn't networked and I am the administrator on it (I believe) so do you know how I can enable registry editing? TIA

Are you using Windows ME?
Do you have your pc set up with separate user accounts?
I wasn't aware that Windows ME could be set up with an administrator account vs. accounts that could not open certain programs like regedit.
I have never set up my pc for separate user accounts, maybe you could change accounts and accomplish the registry editing?
Sorry, I don't know the answer to this one.
(You might try deleting all .pwl files? This is a complete guess so wait for more advice.)

I am using ME. I checked and I only have one user account set up on my pc. I'm currently doing the online virus scanning. Thanks for your suggestions. Does anyone else have any ideas? TIA
