Yesterday I ran live update checking for new virus definitios .It ended up showing a 1600K.B.+ download .I thought it was rather large ,however I went ahead with the download called Symantec Redirector Update. After being prompted to restart my PC after the download was complete ,I restarted and then checked my user resources which is normally 94% free after a restart or bootup. However it was only 91% free ,I went and looked at items listed in MSCONFIG ,and sure enough there was a new item added to my startup ? its listed as Symantec NetDriver Monitor ? I disabled it from running at startup .I did a search on the redirector update ,and though not clear, it appears to be related only to those that have a Norton Firewall ,which I do not ,I have Norotn Anti-Virus 2002, and my virus definitions are up to date .Why would symantec have those without their firwall product download such a large download if they do not have the Norotn product to support it. Any more info reguarding this recent update would be greatly appreciated !
Thanks Nick
