Norton LU9001 and Scandisc adventu

Trying to download new virus definitions and keep getting a message "LU9001-failed authentication" Trying to contact Norton is futile. At the same time, Scandisc started seemingly on its own. Could not complete because something was running. Any help would be appreciated.

You don't provide much information about your system, nor the version of Norton/Symantec you're running. I found the fix for that in about 5 seconds. Did you go to Symantec's Support website and enter the error? I'm guessing not. Computer Challenged? Click Here: Life is more painless for those who are brainless.
