I have been playing with ghost for a while now, but still have yet to find a method to make a ghost boot disk on a zip dick instead of the standard A: Floppy. Anyone have any ideas?

Is your ZIP drive internal? If not, the computer does not know it is there until the software for it is loaded, thus will not be a bootable drive. If the space on the a: disk is a consern then get a internal drive. If you do have a internal drive, check the bios settings. Maybe you can choose to boot the zip that way.
