Win ME and recently installed NAV 2002. All fine xecepting reports showed a virus in windows temp inter file that could not be repaired or quarantined but access denied.
Subsequent full virus scans shows no viruses and computer works fine. For those using NAV why a report shows virus and scan none? Should I be concerned?

Remember the name of the virus?
Delete the contents of the temp internet folder, if you haven't done so already.
(dont open any of them!)

Emptied temp. internet files more than once but when I check after emptying, there are still many, many files listed. Is this normal?
Many thanks

Try going to c:\windows\temp int files, click on "view","select all",that should highlight them all,right-click on them, delete. If that doesn't get rid of them,I don't know what to tell you.Actually,a few minutes ago,I tried to delete mine from tools\internet options, and it went so fast,I had to go to the folder to see for myself.Still had a buttload left.Don't know why,but if anyone could tell me,I'd love to know!

Norton AV reports lists virus as JS.Exception.Exploit virus with no suggestions how to remove. Apparently a microsoft vulnerability.
Any suggestions how to remove?

When you go into Windows Explorer click the folder button at the top of the screen, in the folder tree that displays at the left side of the screen find the Temp Int File folder open it in the tree at the side you will see there are a few folders in the T.I.F folder that don't display if the folder is opened in the main window. In The tree delete all the folders in the T.I.F folder. These folders will be recreated by windows but the content that was in them will be deleted. Windows seems to keep copies of the files in your T.I.F folder in these folders as well.

A file sometimes cannot be deleted if that file is in use. It is common for programs to create temp files as it is running. The virus is no exception. This is why the file cannot be deleted.
It is difficult to explain how to wipe these files. But here are two options:
Kill the process number (PID) of the virus, then delete the file.
Find and write down the location of your "Temporary Internet Files" Folder, then reboot your computer with a DOS or start up disk and delete the folder. Windows will recreate the file once you restart windows.

HAve just done a virus scan & discobvered i have the js exception exploit virus
I tried to remove it through Norton but it says it cant remove & to quaranteen it which i have done
How do i delete the virus & what effect does the file have on programmes etc if keapt in the quanateen folder

Every time I open internet explorer, NAV 2002 discovers the JS.Exception.Exploit virus. I tryed following the steps, but could not resolve the issue. I tried to remove it through Norton but it says it can't be removed & to quarantine it which i have done. How do i delete the virus, and can it spread even though it's kept in the quanatine folder?
