I cant get rid of norton antivirus 2004. when I go the add remove windows utility I get this message "the setup has detected that a previous install or uninstall has been completed but requires a restart. try restarting the system" I restarted windows a couple of times and still get the same message. I need a solution to this. thanks

Symantec does not have a removal tool for 2004 out yet. On their website they state to not to use rnav.2003 to remove 2004. The easiest solution is to use "system restore" to a restore point before you installed 2004, as Norton runs so deep in the system.

You can also search your hard drive and the registry for all mentions of Norton and Symantec and remove the directories and registry entries you find - this should do the trick. Back up first!
