Norton firewall causes my internet explorer to crash on a consisten basis, i am using a cable modem and made all the changes that norton deemed necessary, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've been using Norton Firewall for several months now with no problems at all. It has detected and prevented numerous 'attacks' on my system. Be sure to go to Live Update which will update Norton Firewall and possible prevent any problems.

If you want a firewall download Zonealarm. Its the best one available and is completley free........

i use NIS 2000 and have found it ok with ME, i also use Zonealarm and Tiny Firewall Software, the tiny firewall is the better of the 2 as it is IASC approved and used by the US Navy. So download zonealarm and tiny firewalls both completley free and both efficient, by the way the tiny firewall is less memory hungry than zonealaem and has a much smaller footprint.

I agree with Undo. I suggest you to uninstall Norton FireWall then install ZoneAlarm ( you can download it from www.zonelabs.com). ZoneAlarm is the best firewall out there and it's FREE. Look at http://grc.com/su-leaktest.htm for further information about how good ZA is and how crap Norton FW is.
