Comment: Recently added 128 ram to IBM computer and now have 256, but that is the only change to system and I don't even know if that is when our sound quit working as I don't usually turn on the speakers, but there are times I need it. Have WindowsMe and checked the connections to make sure they are plugged in properly. The light on the speaker box shows it's on, but no sound. Have also checked the volume controls and they are okay. Any suggestions?

Reply: (edit)Lyn, Check device manager. Right click on my computer, properties, device manager tab, and look for any yellow or red markings on anything. Also, What sound card do you have? Or is it onboard sound?

Reply: (edit)Check and make sure that you sound card is properly seated in the socket. You may have inadvertantly bumped it when installing the RAM. ~me~

Reply: (edit)Thanks. As far as sound card? Under device manager it says Es solo 1 pc 1 audio drive (wdm)/game port joystickk/wave device for voice modem. The ram was installed @ a computer store, so am not sure even where the sound card would be. Thanks, again, for any suggestions.
