Comment: I ran the system recovery CD's (2) and all worked OK except I lost my sound. There is nothing listed under Device Manager. No Sound and Media Devices.
How do I get my sound back? leewill

Reply: (edit)Does your system have a soundcard or is it a motherboard one(if so check in the bios to see if it is enabled). Go to the HP driver support area and download the drivers you need for your sound device.

Reply: (edit)I went to HP support. They directed me to a site to download driver for my sound card.I did this. However, no Sound, Video, and Media devices listed under Device Manager and so I still have no sound.
Don't know what to do next.

I did not use this CD. Did not get a prompt to use it. Could my missing sound be something on this third CD?
