Comment: Yesterday, I turned on my computer after having shut it off. If booted up into safe mode for an unknown reason. When I restarted, I wasn't in safe mode, but the mouse wasn't working, the display only had 16 colors and screwed up resolution, and I had no sound. I fixed the display and mouse problems by removing the mouse and video card and then letting the computer detect them again. I tried to do the same thing with the sound card but it has not worked. I also tried the mmsystem002 fixes provided on another site but they failed as well. Also, every time I open internet explorer and a number of other programs, I get the kernel error. I've had this computer for over two years now and I've never had any problems like this. There are no conflicts and I haven't made any changes recently that could have caused this. Can anyone help me get my sound back? Thanks for reading!

Reply: (edit)Sorry but there's one more thing, I have 256 color now but it still looks kind of screwy. Light blue has become olive green in some programs and junk like that.
