Comment: Hey all- Okay, I'm so frustrated with this stupid thing. A few days ago I tried playing music on my computer and it gave me an error message. I then noticed that the little speaker icon was no longer at the bottom right corner. As far as I can tell, from exploring my computer, that its somehow not installed anymore. I really have no clue how to fix this, but I'd really appreciate some help. Thanks for any replies!

Reply: (edit)kasi23, First, it would be a real PLUS to know what the error message was, with that said. Go to Control Panel>>Sounds and Multimedia This will bring up Sounds and Multimedia Properties. On this (lower left side) is the [] checked by; Show volume contol on taskbar. Also, Control Panel>>Add/Remove Programs>>Windows Setup(Tab)>>Single click Multimedia>>click [Details](button)>>Is the [] checked by Volume Control. Like I said would of been a plus to know what the error message was. Good Luck

Reply: (edit)click on the windows button, then run and type systray This will bring back the icon into the system tray. The file is found in the Windows/System folder. For the master volume pop up window type sndvol32 and you can adjust volume levels for several features(the same as right-clicking on the speaker icon). This file is found in the Windows folder.
