I go to control panel / add /remove programs and there are none. The only change I've made was try to install a Lexmark x73 all in one printer using usb. Every program except the Lexmark seems to work ok and I'm at a loss.
I uninstalled Lexmark and now I uninstalled every thing? I've rebooted several times and ran NAV and came up with nothing. I've done a restore to a week ago before I added the Lexmark or updated Yahoo Messenger wich are the only additions I've made in the last week. Except NAV updated itself when I finnally did get on line a few minutes ago. Anybody got any ideas for me?
I have a HP Pavilion xe763 running Win ME with 700 mgh Celeron.

hello
you can remove printer reboot and goto device manager and remove usb ports and or drivers from there and reboot than shut computer back off install printer,reboot goto add new hardware.
you did not say weather your ubs is type 1 or newer type 2. you can get a pci ubs type 2 card that gives more power to things you hook up and is faster this might cure your problems.
have a nice day

from groups.google.com;
Probably one or more of your programs have a long name, that does not
fit in the tab. This blanks it.
Open Regedit.exe and scroll to:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall]

There you will see all your program names and Uninstall strings.
Even if you cannot use add/remove, you may delete the programs properly
using the strings.
Read the names and rename the long ones to shorter. Don't touch the
strings.
This has worked before.

Latest chapter in my sob story. I ran a disk defrag and ran scan disk, (for 14 hours), and still have nothing in the add/remove in control panel. I have tweakui so getting rid of the programs isn't my main concern as much as what happened and will it cause more trouble down the road?
And to answer you wawadave, at least as well as I can, I have a Intel 82801AA USB Controler, version 002 if that is what you mean.
Thanks to all who answered.
