I have a Sony Vaio Notebook. I have a devise that hooks up to the serial port. I also have a wire that's supposed to go into the mouse port to power the unit. My sony doesn't have a mouse port! I can't believe it! Anyway, I was wondering if I could buy an adapter and maybe use a USB port. Can anyone help me with this problem? Joe.

You should have two wires, one for ground and one for +5v from the PS/2 mouse connector port. You could find the wiring of a USB port cable and take the ground and +5v off of the USB. If you have an external keyboard connector you could take the power off of it also.
