No mouse arrow & in safe mode

Do you have a USB attached mouse? And do you have USB support enabled in BIOS Setup so the USB mouse can work in Safe Mode where Windows 32 bit drivers are not loaded to support USB devices?

I only know the basics about computers.I was able to do a spyware scan and found several parasites in the registry.Could this be the problem.Thanks for the help.

this is a very common scenario, since "safe mode" is meant for troubleshooting and many mice will not work in safe mode you should really learn all the keyboard shortcuts you might need, like "ctrl-esc" to bring up the start menu. You can find all the keyboard shortcuts you should ever need just searching with google. Good luck.
