Did you try a system restore .If you did and it did not work .How about one of your registry backups . Pick one with a date B/4 this problem started ! Good Luck,Nick

Repair IE.
The folders you're opening are called "shell folders" and are handled by DLLs shared by Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer.
If there's a problem with one of those libraries, repairing IE will repair that library.
I've seen it fix issues exactly like this in the past.
