I installed a SanDisk ImageMate Reader & connected it to my USB port but Windows ME did not assign it a drive letter. The FAQ on the SanDisk website says to check the registry, which I did, and "lastdrive" was already set to "Z" so that's not the problem. Does anyone know what else it could be?

this shouldn't be necessary, but did you recycle power on the computer? after that, swap USB ports.

I tried both USB ports & I have the same problem with both. I even bought a different USB Card Reader, installed it, and I have the same problem...no drive letter shows up in My Computer.

Hi. If your usb ports are part of the motherboard...check and make sure usb is enabled in the bios.
