You need to get a CD-ROM drive, set the jumper, & correctly connect it to your motherboard. Is that what you mean?

If you already have a good one (not a bad one, they only last a few years due to having to burn through finger prints on the CD's) that works when you boot with a Windows ME boot diskette, then scan the system Registry for a NOIDE entry and delete it.
