My PC won't boot up or even send a signal to the monitor. On power up, both the power and Hard drive LEDs come on and stay on, the fans spin up but it doesn't look like POST occurs. The monitor light doesn't turn from orange to green.
I've just fixed my internal speaker as it's not been plugged in for ages but it doesn't beep at all on power up.
It was working on Monday but since then there has been a big electrical storm. Can that have affected the machine even if switched off? Could clearing the CMOS help?
I have an Abit KA7 (66) motherboard with a Slot A 700 Athlon, 128 MB PC 133 and an STB Velocity 4400 (NVidia TNT) 16 MB graphics card. It runs Windows Millenium when it's working.Has anybody overcome this sort of problem before? Hope you can help.

i had the same problem
i found out that starting the
computor and holding down the del key
made it possible for me to go into biosthere i changed the processor operating freq
from 100 to 66 hzit is most likely a problem with the new detonator drivers that i installed
so i will change back to my cards original
ones and then try to change back to my old settings and c if that help

ps with those settings 66hz it boot perfect
and i did try to clear the cmos and
also installed a new bios ... but
that did not help.. just the processor
settings that did ..i also remember having a error report
on my agp drivers and found some other posts
about the problem with detonator drivers
so i put my money on that :)
