I have a trojan and multiple ad/spyware problems, yet am unable to reformat as the disks are not automatically read upon turning restart after shutting off the computer. I have two different sets of disks, both of which worked in the past. Spybot, adaware, etc. will not remove the infections, either so that isnt an option. The computer just stars up normally as if there is nothing in the disk drive. What is happening, am I going to have to buy a whole new computer? Can someone please help me?

By disks do you mean floppy disks or CDs? Have you verified in the BIOS that the floppy/CD is first boot device and that the disks are indeed bootable?

The question, is can someone help them....
Have a look at this, and good luck. That's a starter anyway.
Temporarily disable System Restore. This will delete ALL prior restore points, however this is necessary because many times infections are backed up here. Reboot....
Go to Start > Run, type in MSCONFIG & click on the startup tab...remove the check mark from all suspicious entries. Click APPLY & reboot.
