My laptop has win me and pc was upgraded to w2k. Previously both were communicating when I had win 98. Now pc sees laptop but laptop does not see pc. how do I fix this problem.

I don't know about the Win 2k, but everytime I have that problems like that with Win Me, I would check "NetBeui". If you don't know, here's how to get it...First you go to the control panel, then select the net working, and then click add, and find netbeui and double click it. Restart your computer when you finish.

I read that you have to log on to the laptop with ME on it with the same name as the one on Win2K.I have 3 computers one with Me, one with Win 98 and one with Win2k.Initially the Win 2k could see Me and Win 98 but they could't see Win 2K. The advice I got was to set up a user/password profile on the WinMe machine the same as the one on Win2k.Win Me could then see Win 2K, but the strange thing I found was that the Win 98 computer could now also see Win 2k and I'd done NO alterations to the user on that computer, weird?

I set up a user profile on the laptop with me. I can go to My network places open tthe entire network, see my work group, see my two computers, and click on the pc. Then I get a box "Enter Network Password". But I dont use a password. From here I'am lost. I went in to change password properties but i don't use a password for the printers or hard disk on the pc. When my machine starts I use a password in the bios for protection, then when I log to windows I use a password. this only happens in my laptop. In my pc there is no password and I log on as administrator. Can any one help.
