I updated and ran both my Ad-ware and SpyBot programs. My problem now is that when I load Windows I get this error (The system cannot find the specified program) Error loading C:\PROGRA~1\NEWDOT~1\NEWDOT~2.DLL.

(1)I believe this is in my add/remove program. If I remove this NEWDOT DLL, are there any known problems with removing it?

(2)After I ran SpyBot and had disabled MyWebSearch, then when I got on the internet I started having problems with loading msn messenger and staying connected to the internet. (At least I thought that (MyWebSearch) was the problem) So I restored the MyWebSearch. Then I ran norton antivirus in safe mode just before this post. My computer seems to be running good right now. My question is does this program have anything to do with my internet browsing or msn messenger?

(3)Then when I got on the internet to post this message, I found that ZoneAlarm was completely blank and was asking for permission for these programs to access the internet, like Callwave answering service, messenger, internet explorer. Things I had already placed in ZoneAlarm when I first got it set up a couple of weeks ago. What could have happened here? I only restored MyWebSearch.

Thank you. I have a 4th question. I also had SpyBot delete this mygeeks.com search assistant. I had no idea where it came from. Right after I did this I got on the internet and I was having these problems of getting cut off.

Well now I am getting another search assistant that I didn't ask for (searchcentrix.com) It shows up just like the first one does, when I get a page that can't be displayed or I'm about to lose my internet connection. Where and how did I get this so fast? It happened on my very first internet connection after getting rid of the mygeeks.com

Sounds like you are attracted to web sites with Browser Hijackers. And Trojans.

Update your AdAware reference files Online.
Update your SpyBot reference files online.
Update your Virus Scan program files online.

Download HiJack This and save it on your drive.

Then:

OPEN CWshredder.exe and run it.

Then disconnect from the Internet (as in actually unplugging it or turning off your modem), reboot system and run a full ADAware scan and delete all it finds. Then run SpyBot and delete all it finds. Then reboot system.

Then run a full Virus Scan and fix what it finds. Then reboot system.

Run System Tools - Disk CleanUp utility and check all boxes.

Make sure you ZoneAlarm is running and setup OK. Virus/Trojans may have disabled part of it.

Then setup HiJack this and create a LOG file.

Connect back to the internet and post the Hijack Log to this thread.

While waiting for help, disconnect Internet and run DEFRAG. See what get recommended. You may need to run a good Trojan scanner/remover.

Then the next time you connect to the Internet, stay away from the web sites giving you all this stuff and quit clicking on the AD's on web pages.

Sorry, this has been a really bad day for me to get on the internet and in the morning I have to run to the dentist. It will probably be tonight (it’s after midnight now) before I get all of this done that you ask me to do, then I will make the post for you to look at. Thanks!

How do I remove the parasite that put searchcentrix.com on my computer. I cannot find anything on how to manually remove it. I want a process much like used for xupiter and I don't want to have to download some eles's software unless it's from a reputable company. PLEASE HELP. You do a search and only the above string comes up with this information, but it's not easy to follow.
