Hello to all, my cpu was restarting in the middle of any operation, programs, card games or internet. Now it doen't restart, but shuts off completely. I have run updated Norton AV, Ad-aware,and Spybot. My heat checker showed 143 F. 50 C. which I think is normal. So it is not shutting down for over heating. It only stays on for about 15 or 20 minutes. Any help deeply appreciated.

Hi all, I think I found the problem.Every tenth time or so, cacheman would cause a problem, so I uninstalled cacheman and the computer has been on for 3 hrs with no problem. Maybe this info will help someone else out sometime. Thanks anyway. Dino2

Hi I have the same exact problem, it's such a piece of s---. except mine isnt on a schedule like every 15-20 min it's more sporatic like especially when i have a paper due in the morning or somethimg. Everyone told me it's because Windows ME sucks. So I bought XP and tried to upgrade and the stupid computer shut off while trying to upgrade. so now i am taking it to a friend to fix. But the majority of advice i have gotten is to reinstall with a boot disk. do a clean installation.
