Okay, I had a computer crash and I went to install Me onto my desktop. THe problem is my hard drive is only recognizing a single partition of 2 gigs.. out of the possible 80... However, I have no idea how, if possible, to fix it...someone please help!!!

The 2GB partition is probably a hidden partition with the original Sony Vaio installation files on. Are you using the original Vaio disc to reinstall?

No, the computer originally came with XP on it.. and it was my wife's former computer, thus I had no backup disks for it... I had a crash, but had no xp disks, on Me disks....

So what status is the machine at at the moment? Can it boot to the desktop? Is it dead on boot with a black screen? What? Are there any error messages?
What is the Vaio model number?
It's all in the detail, it's all well and good trying to install ME on it but if you don't have all the drivers for it then you are struggling.

The harddrive was prbably formatted with NTFS and me is a fat 32 or fat 16 format. You will need to refdick the harddrive and reformat it with fat 32 partition. Then you should see up 137 gigs of hardrive as it is the max limit of ME and you should be able to installME.

Yeah, run fdisk, Y to large disk support and then option 4. Post back what it says.
