I have two computers networked, one runs on ME (the client) and the other under XP. The XP has a HP DJ 895Cxi printer hooked up that is shared on the network. However, I cannot find an appropriate driver for it under Windows ME on the other computer. The closest I can come to it is a HP 870Cxi. If I use the HP 895 Cxi installation disks, it does not recognize that the printer is shared and installed on the other computer. It tries to install the printer sw as though it was a local printer. How do I get the right driver into the ME computer to recognize the HP 895Cxi installed on the XP machine? Thanks

Have tried that and all I get is an installation program for the printer that trys to find a printer connected to the computer which doesn't exist because the printer is connected to the other computer on the network. The installation can't continue. All I can find is installation set-up programs, not drivers (which must be within the set-up programs)

hello goto start,settings,printers add the net work printer there it will add corect drivers and be able to print to the net work printer. but you will have to goto my net work places and bring it up there. and in settings printers set it as default printer. ••• Resistance is invigorating! •••kill spyware
