Network Log in - NOT AUTO

I just upgraded to ME from 98. What is annoying is that it won't automatically log me in for network access. I always have to log off, and choose my user name once the desktop is loaded. On 98 I had my password stored as nothing (clicked OK once, a while ago, to no password typed beneath user name), and it automatcally logged me in, how do I get it do that on ME?
Summary: strange I couldn't login using netscape, just kept going back to trying to login link. maybe it's not netscape 4.7 compatible? oh well, can still read the question&answers without logging in. ...
